Facilities

The excellent facilities at St Charles’ Catholic Primary School Waverley are designed to support a challenging, differentiated and motivating curriculum that provides for the academic, artistic, physical, spiritual and social development of every child in every lesson.

Our gardens

In our vegetable garden, students learn about their natural environment while caring for the garden. Not only is it fun, they are learning life skills such as cooperating, sharing and critical thinking. The soothing and reflective peace garden is a wonderful area for those students who seek a quieter space.

Music Rooms

To promote a lifelong love of music and self-expression St Charles’ has three specialised music rooms. The larger room is utilised for both music and drama and in the smaller two rooms, students learn to play a range of instruments with private tutors. Also, our school hall has modern lighting and sound and supports stage performances, dance classes and assemblies.

Before and After
School Care

Conveniently located in the school grounds, our before and after school care is accessible for families. The caring and motivated OSH team provides students with fun and exciting activities together with healthy and nutritious food. Vacation care is also available.

Library

Our bright and spacious library contains an extensive collection of fiction, non-fiction and e-books that promotes student-centred learning and opportunities for enquiring minds to seek knowledge and understanding about contemporary global topics.

School Hall

With modern lighting and sound, our heritage listed school hall is ideal for assemblies, stage performances and dance classes. Visiting groups and artists, including Opera Australia, offer wonderful performances for our students. Each fortnight we hold whole school assemblies in the hall led by different classes.

Spacious playgrounds

To foster the wellbeing of our students, we have many outdoor play areas including a badminton court, basketball/netball court and a number of handball courts. The large playgrounds feature separate play equipment for infants and primary school students with some areas undercover.
